In the last two months, the video app Houseparty has grown 1600% to become the #1 social app in 82 countries, including the U.S., with hundreds of millions of users. Its success, however, has been many years in the making.

A nice reminder that “overnight successes take ten years.” I tried Houseparty for the first time this weekend with my partner and her family. Think FaceTime with the ability to play group games. It was great. I expect to see many more applications like this come out of the covid era.
